01
Physiological
Food, water, sleep, shelter.
Wayan cooks all day. Kitchen's open 24/7. Filtered water, snacks, juice. King beds, real linens, silent A/C, blackout drapes. You're never going to think about any of this twice.
Seseh · Bali
Eight people. One house. The best months of your year.
A fully-staffed co-living residence in Seseh, Bali. Application only. Opens January 2028.
Designed by Shaiden Valentine.
A thousand square metres of jungle, top to bottom.

The Great Room
Long table for twenty. A grand piano someone’s always about to play. A 200-inch cinema screen. A stage that gets used more than you’d guess.
Open plan into the kitchen, so you can be on a call from one end while breakfast is happening at the other. The room handles it.

Wayan
The Kitchen
The Chef
Trained at Locavore. Cooks three meals a day, plus whatever you want at 2am. Indonesian mostly, but he can pivot — when someone arrives jet-lagged and just wants pasta and red sauce, he gets it.
Snacks, drinks, fresh fruit, cold-pressed juice — kitchen open 24/7. Produce comes from the local market most mornings. If you want to come along, just ask.
The Suites
The eight member suites are identical — same size, same fixtures, same view. You don’t compete for the better room. They’re all the better room.

The Heart
The Heart
Suite IX is the heart of the house — Shaiden's residence when he's at Elysium. Not available for residency. Listed because nine is the shape of the place.

The Rooftop
The Grounds

01 · Infinity pool
26 metres of heated pool, open whenever you want it.
02 · Jacuzzi
Built into the lower deck. 42°C. Sits four comfortably.
03 · Sauna
Cedar-lined, two-tier, 80°C. Best at sunset.
04 · Cold plunge
5°C, right next to the sauna. Three minutes does it.
05 · Outdoor showers
Two of them, open to the sky. Hot and cold.
06 · Firepit
Lit every night at dusk. Locally cut wood.
Open 24/7. No sign-ups, no schedules.
A day
Not a schedule. A rhythm. Some days you do all of it, some days you skip half — that’s the point.

Yoga on the rooftop, before sunrise.
Breakfast at the long table — eggs from the local farm, fresh fruit, coffee.
Deep work on the terrace, your suite, or the coworking lab — wherever lands.
An hour with Made. Most days you didn't think you needed it. You always did.
Lunch with whoever's around. Fresh mangoes if you're lucky.
Scooter to Pererenan beach. Eleven minutes.
Cold plunge, three minutes. Sauna after.
Rooftop with the rest of the house. Valley turning gold.
Dinner. However many residents showed up. Wayan's cooking.
Cinema, music room, or your suite — your call.
Firepit. The conversations you came for.
Bed. Suite blackout. Best sleep you've had in months.
The rhythm
Elysium runs on rhythm. Sunrise yoga most days, long lunches most afternoons, music or cinema most evenings. Pick what you want, skip what you don’t. Nothing is required, everything’s on offer.
Monday
Each month
01
House party
Once a month. Music, fire, the whole community + invited friends. Always memorable, never required.
02
Founder's dinner
Shaiden cooks (or pretends to) and the table is one long line. Everyone in residence. No phones.
03
Deep-work week
One week a quarter, the social calendar goes silent. Just meals, movement, and your work.
04
Open week
One week a quarter, residents can invite a partner or close collaborator to stay alongside them.
The Bali around us
Sari maintains the shared calendar. Sign up for what you want, ignore the rest. The driver takes us, the chef preps for the day.
Philosophy
Most people spend their whole lives climbing Maslow’s pyramid. Food, safety, belonging, respect — and only after all that, if there’s any energy left, the work they were actually put here to do.
Elysium flips it. Levels one through four are baked into the architecture, the staff, the operations. You don’t spend your stay surviving. You spend it self-actualizing.
01
Physiological
Food, water, sleep, shelter.
Wayan cooks all day. Kitchen's open 24/7. Filtered water, snacks, juice. King beds, real linens, silent A/C, blackout drapes. You're never going to think about any of this twice.
02
Safety
Secure space, healthcare, stability.
NFC + biometric locks. Sari has a doctor on speed dial. The driver's on call. Insurance, operational reserves, professional management — you're covered, all the way down.
03
Love & belonging
Community, conversation, connection.
Eight people picked for fit. Long table at every meal. The kind of friendships that come from sharing a kitchen for weeks — not the kind you fake at networking events.
04
Esteem
Respect, recognition, peer regard.
Everyone here is doing real work. You're surrounded by people who get it. Studio time, podcast lab, workshops. Your work matters here — and people will tell you so.
05
Self-actualization
The reason you came.
The book. The album. The next company. The version of yourself that's been waiting for the right room. This is the level Elysium is built to unlock — and the only one that's still up to you.
We handle the first four. You handle the fifth.
That’s the whole thesis. The ∞ — closed loop, infinite room inside — is what self-actualization looks like when everything else is finally out of the way.
The People

Wayan
Chef
Local. Trained at Locavore in Ubud. Cooks three meals a day plus snacks, plus whatever you want at 2am. Goes to the market most mornings — if you ever want to come, just ask.

Made
Masseuse
Ten years of practice in classical Balinese technique. Available daily. Most people book her late afternoon — there's a reason for that.

Komang
Driver
On call from 6am. Knows every road, every shortcut, every ceremony that's going to block traffic before it blocks traffic. Pulls up the surf forecast on his phone before yours catches up.

Sari
House Manager
Runs the house. Reservations, recommendations, repairs, the boat for Saturday — anything. First person you meet on arrival, last one you see when you go.
The Residents
Founders building real companies. Operators and investors. Artists, athletes, writers with real work in front of them. People who’ve done something worth doing — and aren’t done.
Every resident gets approved individually, for the cohort in residence at the time they’d be here. No waitlist, no quota, no automated yes. We read every application, and we say no a lot more than we say yes.
This isn’t a hotel you book. It’s a house you join.
Who lives here
Composite profiles based on the kind of person Elysium attracts. Real residents appear in the portal once they’re in. Filter by category to picture who you’d share the long table with.

Access
The whole property runs on NFC. Pick the form you actually want — phone, watch, ring, bracelet, pendant, key card. They all work everywhere on the property.
iPhone in Apple Wallet
Add your Elysium key to Apple Wallet on day one. Tap your phone at the front door, the suite, the pool gate. Works in low-power mode and even when the battery's dead — Apple's Express Mode keeps it alive for hours.
Apple Watch
Same key, on your wrist. Tap. Done.
Android · Elysium app
Add your key in the Elysium app. Tap your phone, same as iOS. NFC tap or BLE proximity unlock.
NFC ring
Brushed-titanium ring with embedded NFC chip. Tap your hand at any reader. Comes with the founding cohort. Sized at arrival.
NFC bracelet
Black leather, brass clasp. The chip is hidden in the buckle. Holds up in the pool, the sauna, and the surf.
NFC pendant
Discreet brass pendant on a leather cord. For when a ring or bracelet isn't your thing.
Classic key card
If you'd rather just have a card, you can have a card. It works exactly like the rest.
Biometric backup
Fingerprint reader at the front door as a backup. So if you've ever locked yourself out of a hotel room, the answer here is: you haven't.
What it opens
Permissions live in the Elysium app — you grant guests, dial back access for a contractor, lock yourself out of the gym at 11pm if that’s the kind of week you’re having. Your call.
The Place
8°34'S · 115°08'E
Seseh is the quieter edge of Canggu. Real rice fields, real roosters in the morning. But the studios, cafés, longevity clinics, cold-plunge spots, and the best surf in Bali are all under 20 minutes away.
Focus when you need it. The scene when you want it.
The Setting
Elysium sits deep in the jungle on land we refused to flatten. The natural features of the property became part of the design — and that’s why this place feels different the moment you walk in.

01
The cliff
A 12-metre escarpment runs the full length of the property. The main pavilion sits at the top of it. The lower deck steps down into the canopy. The land does most of the architectural work.
02
Three waterfalls
Three waterfalls drop off the eastern edge into the garden below. Roaring in the wet season, gentle the rest of the year — you'll fall asleep to them either way.
03
Banyan trees
The property is wrapped in old banyans — sacred in Bali. The largest is older than the road that gets you here. We built around them, never through.
How it works
What you pay. What’s included. How to apply. What happens once you’re in. No fluff.
One number, all in. No nightly rates, no resort fees, no extras at checkout.
Two ways to stay. Take it month by month, or buy the year up front and use the twelve months whenever you like — three weeks now, a fortnight in spring, six weeks in winter. The block doesn’t expire.
01
You apply.
Nine questions. Ten minutes. Written, not interviewed — we read them properly.
02
We read.
Decisions move in two-week cycles. We're looking for fit with the community in residence at the time you'd be there. That's the only criterion.
03
An invitation, or not.
If we say yes, you receive a private link to the resident portal. From there you choose a suite, dates, and start a conversation with the house manager.
04
You arrive.
Usually for a month, at first. Most residents extend. Some stay six months. A few stay a year and become part of the house.
What “everything” means
House policy
This isn’t a rule we enforce — it’s the entire point. It changes the mornings, the conversations, who shows up, who comes back. The whole community works because of it.
If that’s a deal-breaker, no hard feelings — Elysium just isn’t the place for you. Easier to know now.
Selection
You’re building something real — a company, a body of work, a craft, a life that requires actual focus. We’re looking for people who’ll add to the room, not just be in it.
Fit matters more than CV. We pick for the cohort that’ll be in residence with you. The application is the start of the conversation.
The Founder
Shaiden Valentine
I’ve spent five years running co-living communities and five years inside the best hotels in the world. Elysium is what I built when I couldn’t find a place that did both.
Co-living gets community right and operations wrong. Five-star hotels nail the operations and miss the community completely. Nobody was doing both for the people who actually need both — founders, operators, artists, athletes who’d outgrown retreat centres and hotel residences and wanted something real.
Every choice in Elysium comes from years of watching what works and what doesn’t. No best practices borrowed from brochures. No vibes inherited from somewhere else.
From co-living
Real friendships. Long stays. The conversations only people who’ve shared a kitchen for weeks ever have.
From five-star hotels
Operational excellence. Trained staff. The thing you need showing up before you knew you needed it.
The Build
Elysium opens in 2028. The ground is already broken. Nizar is already on site. Every month, we write about where things stand. Not the polished version. The real one — what’s hard, what’s changed, what we learned this week.
